When Gal Gadot first appeared on screen as Wonder Woman in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, she didn’t just embody the Amazonian warrior in costume — she radiated the strength, grace, and presence of a character that had inspired generations. But bringing an iconic superhero to life is not just about charisma or acting chops. For Gadot, the role demanded a complete physical transformation, requiring months of intensive training, disciplined nutrition, and a mindset focused on both performance and authenticity.

Known for her lean, athletic build and natural elegance, Gadot was already in good shape before landing the role. She had served two years in the Israel Defense Forces, where she underwent combat training that built a foundation of physical fitness and resilience. However, preparing to portray Wonder Woman meant pushing far beyond her comfort zone. The character was not only a warrior but also a demigod — someone whose movements, power, and stamina needed to appear superhuman on screen. To achieve that, Gadot immersed herself in one of the most demanding workout regimens of her career.

Her transformation began months before filming started, under the guidance of a dedicated team of trainers, nutritionists, and stunt coordinators. The training was designed not only to sculpt her physique but also to make her capable of performing much of her own stunt work. Gadot’s daily routine often involved up to six hours of physical activity, split into various disciplines. These included strength training, high-intensity interval training (HIIT), martial arts, and functional movement exercises that mimicked the action sequences she would face during filming.
